Housing Court / Eviction Prevention

About this Program

We're actively working to prevent eviction and keep individuals and families stably housed. Our current efforts are focused on exploring innovative, proven strategies that support tenants before they lose their homes.

We know that eviction is one of the leading pathways into homelessness, particularly for low-income families already living on the edge. By focusing on early intervention, legal support, and community-based solutions, we are building a future where housing crises are prevented before they begin.

Our Work
Researching Housing Court Models – We're studying successful programs across South Carolina, including in Charleston, to understand how legal aid, mediation, and court-based interventions can reduce evictions and promote housing stability.
Exploring opportunities for a local pilot or partnership that brings together landlords, tenants, legal professionals, and community support.
