About the Summit
A Day of Connection, Learning, and Action
The Spartanburg County Housing Summit is a full-day gathering focused on housing instability, homelessness, and affordable housing in our community. This is a space for leaders, service providers, funders, policymakers, and community members to come together, build a shared understanding, and identify real next steps.

Meet the Speakers
Dr. Belal Hossain
Director of Research and Evaluation, Strategic Spartanburg, Inc.
Dr. Belal Hossain serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation at Strategic Spartanburg, where he leads data-driven initiatives to inform policy and improve quality of life across Spartanburg County. His work focuses on housing, poverty and upward mobility, food security, and youth mental health. He is currently leading the development of the State of Housing report for the City of Spartanburg. Trained as a sociologist, Dr. Hossain brings expertise in statistical and GIS analysis, program evaluation, and policy research. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Oklahoma State University.
Eric Davis
Director of Housing and Land Management, Charleston County
Eric Davis is a seasoned local government administrator with more than 17 years of experience serving communities across South Carolina. After earning his MPA from the College of Charleston, he spent 13 years in parks and recreation, holding roles with Spartanburg County, the Town of Summerville, and Dorchester County. In 2021, he joined Charleston County as Director of Greenbelt Programs. He was promoted in 2025 to Director of Housing and Land Management, where he leads implementation of Charleston County’s Housing Our Future Plan.
Deborah McKetty
Former President, South Carolina Community Loan Fund
Deborah Randolph McKetty is a native of Greenville and recently retired as President of the South Carolina Community Loan Fund (SCCLF), a statewide Community Development Financial Institution dedicated to advancing equitable access to capital. Under her leadership, SCCLF partnered with Charleston County to establish a local housing trust fund, mobilizing more than $30 million to support affordable and workforce housing, and secured over $125M in New Market Tax Credits for community projects statewide. Prior to SCCLF, Deborah served as Vice President and Chief Impact Officer at United Way of Greenville County, where she led the “Reimagine Community Impact” initiative and COVID-19 relief efforts. She was also Founder and CEO of CommunityWorks Carolina, growing the organization to approximately $20 million in assets. With more than 35 years of experience, her honors include the Greenville Chamber’s ATHENA Women’s Leadership Award and induction into Greenville Business Magazine’s “50 Most Influential Hall of Fame.”

Hannah Jarrett serves as Director of A Place to Call Home, where she leads the strategic direction, partnerships, and daily operations of the organization. Her work centers on building a more coordinated, community-driven response to housing instability and homelessness in Spartanburg County. Hannah brings together government, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders to align strategies, share data, and drive action toward lasting housing solutions.

We’ll provide guidance from the stage between sessions to help everyone transition throughout the day.
You will select your breakout session during check-in when you arrive. Later in the day, you’ll head to your chosen session at the scheduled time.
Yes. If space allows, you are welcome to join a different session when breakout sessions begin.
Yes. There will be common areas available if you need to step out, take a call, or reset for a few minutes.
Lunch will be served on-site. We’ll make an announcement before lunch begins, so you know where to go.
Look for an A Place to Call Home staff member. We’ll be available throughout the day and happy to help with anything you need.
Yes. Time is built in throughout the day for conversation and connection, especially during check-in, lunch, and transitions between sessions.

Spartanburg Philharmonic is pleased to announce it is the recipient of an FY 2026 Grants for Arts Projects award of $21,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts. This funding will support a series of performances by violinist Vijay Gupta in partnership with Spartanburg Philharmonic including his keynote address at the Spartanburg County Housing Summit.
